Xavier heads across town to take part in the UC/Pam Whitehead Invite on Oct. 6-7

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Six Musketeers from Xavier women's tennis combined to win 14 matches at the Hoosier Classic. Xavier competed against players from Purdue, Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio) and Northern Illinois, as well as host Indiana over three days at the IU Tennis Center outdoor courts.

Blessing Nwaozuzu collected five wins over the weekend, going 2-1 in singles play, with wins against Northern Illinois and Miami. She also paired with Abigail Siminski in doubles to go 3-1, with wins over IU, Cincinnati and Miami.

Siminski finished the weekend at 4-1, also collecting a single win against Miami.

Ellie Brotherton collected four combined wins over the weekend, picking up a pair of singles wins over players from Indiana and Miami, and combining with Sofia Mazzucato for a pair of doubles wins, against NIU and Miami.

Mazzucato also picked up a singles win against Pacheco of Cincinnati.

Abby Nugent picked up three wins over the weekend, taking a singles win over Teodosescu of Indiana, and then pairing with Emily Flowers for a pair of doubles wins against NIU.

Next up, Xavier heads across town to take part in the UC/Pam Whitehead Invite on Oct. 6-7.
