Cross Country Set for BIG EAST Championships on Saturday

CINCINNATI - Xavier cross country is set for the BIG EAST Championships presented by JEEP on Saturday, Oct. 28. The meet is being held at the Wayne Dannehl Course in Kenosha, Wis.
The Men's 8K Race begins at 12 p.m. ET followed by the Women's 6K Race at 12:50 p.m. ET. The awards presentation is slated for 1:40 p.m. ET.
The championship races will be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network available on FloSports, Presented by Invesco QQQ.

• Xavier competed at the Falcon Invite on Oct. 13. The Xavier men placed second, while the women finished third. The meet was hosted by Bowling Green at the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course.
• Trevor Nolan won the Men's 8K Race in a time of 24:48.60, the 10th fastest time in school history. Jamie Klavon posted a runner-up finish in the Women's 6K Race, posting a time of 21:08.70 - the 10th fastest time in program history.

• Trevor Nolan was named BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week twice this season. He earned the honors on Sept. 5 and Oct. 17.
• The women's cross country team was ranked No. 14 in the Great Lakes Region of USTFCCCA Regional Coaches' Rankings on Oct. 16.
• Xavier returns four of its top-seven women's finishers from the 2022 BIG EAST Championships: Jamie Klavon (32nd), Ashleigh Prugh (41st), Grace Zdankiewicz (46th) and Annie Sinning (52nd). The team placed seventh at the championship meet.
• The Musketeers also return five runners on the men's side from the 2022 BIG EAST Championships in Trevor Nolan (31st), Aiden Amshoff (52nd), Eric Board (53rd), Jackson Triplett (54th) and Will Garey (57th). The men also placed seventh at the meet.
• Xavier competed at the Greater Louisville Classic (Sept. 30) for the third time in as many seasons. The Musketeers also returned to the All-Ohio Challenge (Sept. 15) for the first time since 2019.
• Xavier opened the season at the Vic Godfrey Open (Pre-BIG EAST Championships) on Sept. 2. The same running course will be used for the conference championships on Oct. 28.
