Volleyball Drops Three Set Match to St. John's

The Musketeers move to 13-9 (6-5 BIG EAST)
QUEENS, N.Y. - Xavier volleyball fell in three sets (14-25, 19-25, 26-28) to St. John's on Friday evening.
The Musketeers move to 13-9 (6-5 BIG EAST) on the season and the Red Storm advance to 17-6 (9-2 BIG EAST).

• Caroline Speelman, the sophomore outside hitter, and Delaney Hogan, the graduate middle blocker, led the Musketeers' offense with seven kills apiece and were trailed by graduate setter Carrigan O'Reilly with six. O'Reilly claimed the team-high hitting percentage of .250 on 16 total attempts, six kills, and two errors.
• Four Musketeers totaled two total blocks - freshman outside hitter Quinci Thomas and Hogan registered one solo and one assist each with junior setter Logan Flaugh and junior redshirt middle blocker Sarah Stevens recording two assists apiece.
• Senior libero Stevie Wolf led the defensive efforts in the back court with her eight digs and 19 receptions, and was followed by O'Reilly and Flaugh with seven digs each. Redshirt sophomore outside hitter Emma Grace boasted six digs and 22 receptions against the Red Storm.
• Carrigan O'Reilly totaled 11 assists, raising her career total for assists to 4,078.
• The Musketeers totaled 30 kills, 28 assists, 39 digs, six block assists, and three block solos in the three-set match.

Xavier will close October on the road at Seton Hall on Saturday night before returning home for a five-match homestand.
