Xavier moves to 2-0 against Providence in the 2023 season
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball rolled past Providence in a straight sets victory (25-18, 25-20, 25-22) on Saturday afternoon.
The Musketeers move to 17-9 (10-5 BIG EAST) on the season and the Friars fall to 8-19 (2-13 BIG EAST).

• Anna Taylor, the redshirt sophomore outside hitter, led the Musketeers' offense with 12 kills and no errors on a .600 clip, the match-high in both kills and hitting percentage. Senior middle blocker Delaney Hogan and redshirt sophomore outside hitter Emma Grace posted nine kills each, and redshirt junior middle blocker Sarah Stevens and graduate setter Carrigan O'Reilly contributed six kills apiece.
• Hogan and O'Reilly were the only two Musketeers to tally a block assist and freshman outside hitter Quinci Thomas was the lone man for Xavier in the block solo column.
• Stevie Wolf, the senior libero, averaged 7.67 digs per set, totaling 23 in the match, the highest number of digs in a three-set match for the Musketeers this season. Junior defensive specialist Lucia Corsaro followed Wolf's efforts with 11 digs. Grace led the defensive efforts off the serve with 26 total receptions to pair with her nine digs.
• O'Reilly registered the match-high of 29 assists, boasting 15 in the first set, raising her career total to 4,197.
• O'Reilly, Corsaro, and Grace were aggressive at the service line, tallying two service aces apiece and outpacing the Friars 6-3. Â
• The Musketeers totaled 45 kills, 42 assists, 58 digs, two block assists, one block solo, and six service aces three-set match.
