Xavier collects its 11th win in conference play

CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball topped UConn 3-1 (25-23, 26-28, 25-14, 25-23) on Sunday afternoon.

The Musketeers move to 18-9 (11-5 BIG EAST) on the season and the Huskies fall to 7-21 (2-14 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Emma Grace, the redshirt sophomore outside hitter, notched her eighth career double-double in the four-set match against UConn with 19 kills and 12 digs, averaging 4.75 kills per set.

• Delaney Hogan, the senior middle blocker, followed Grace's offensive efforts with 14 kills and a .600 clip. Hogan also led the defensive efforts at the net with two block solos, the match-high, and three block assists, tacking on three digs, one assist, and one service ace to her stat line.

• Sarah Stevens, the redshirt junior middle blocker registered nine kills hitting .389, the second highest percentage for the Musketeers. Stevens paced Hogan's defensive efforts at the net with one block solo and four block assists, the match-high in the assists column.

• Caroline Speelman reached double-digit kills for the third time in the 2023 season, posting 10 kills on a .333 clip, a career-high percentage for the sophomore outside hitter.

• Stevie Wolf, the senior libero, averaged 5.5 digs per set, totaling 22 in the match. Wolf was one of five Musketeers to reach double-digit digs. Junior setter Logan Flaugh notched 14, junior defensive specialist Lucia Corsaro recorded 13, and Grace and O'Reilly tallied 12 each.

• Carrigan O'Reilly boasted the match-high of 45 assists, averaging 11.25 per set, raising her career total to 4,242. The graduate setter also tallied her 47th career double-double with 12 digs, adding four kills and four total blocks.

• Corsaro led the Musketeers at the service line with two service aces, and was followed by O'Reilly and Grace posting one apiece.

• The Musketeers totaled 61 kills, 57 assists, 77 digs, 14 block assists, five block solos, and four service aces four-set match.

HIGHLIGHTS
