Xavier Continues The Homestand On Monday Night

Musketeers have won two straight games.
CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 4-2, bring a two-game winning streak into a Monday night game vs. the visiting Oakland University Grizzlies, 3-3. Game time is 6:30 p.m. at Cintas Center.
Xavier is playing the second game of a season-long six-game homestand.

• Xavier opened a six-game homestand with a 100-75 win over Bryant on Friday.
• Xavier brings a two-game winning streak into the Oakland game.
• Xavier sophomore Desmond Claude leads the team at 15.5 ppg. after six games. Claude, the only Musketeer who has scored in double figures in every game this season, is the only returnee from last season that has played in a game this season.
• Xavier graduate student Quincy Olivari, who is coming off a season-high 22-point game vs. Bryant, earned a spot on the Continental Tire Main Event All-Tournament Team after averaging 12.5 points and a team-high 7.0 rebounds for XU's two games in Las Vegas.
• Xavier senior Dayvion McKnight leads the BIG EAST Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio at 4.83. Over the last four games that ratio is a gaudy 10.0.
• Xavier head coach Sean Miller holds a 151-59 (.719) mark in his seventh season leading Xavier, which is good for third place on Xavier's all-time wins list.
• Xavier has held its first six opponents to 37.0 percent shooting from the field. XU held Saint Mary's to 25.7 percent shooting.
• Xavier has 10 newcomers on the 2023-24 roster, including six freshmen and four transfers. All 10 newcomers have played this season. Freshman Lazar Djokovic, who sat out the first three games with a hand injury, has played in the last three games.
• Xavier has three international players on its 2023-24 roster, including freshmen Lazar Djokovic (Serbia) and Saša Ciani (Slovenia) and senior Gytis Nemeikša (Lithuania).
