Volleyball Rolls Past Georgetown in Straight Sets

The Musketeers go 2-0 against the Hoyas in the 2023 season
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball defeated Georgetown in straight sets (29-27, 27-25, 25-23) for the second time in the 2023 season on Friday evening.
The Musketeers move to 15-9 (8-5 BIG EAST) on the season and the Hoyas fall to 12-13 (3-10 BIG EAST).

• Delaney Hogan, the graduate middle blocker, led the Musketeers' offense with 12 kills hitting .409 and was trailed by redshirt junior middle blocker Sarah Stevens with 11 hitting .350. Redshirt sophomore outside hitter Emma Grace recorded the team-high hitting percentage of .500 off six kills, no errors, and 12 total attempts.
• Sarah Stevens led the defensive efforts at the net with match-high of four block assists. Graduate setter Carrigan O'Reilly followed with three total blocks, one solo and two assists. Hogan, sophomore outside hitter Caroline Speelman, and redshirt sophomore outside hitter Anna Taylor laid out two block assists apiece bringing the team's total to 12.
• Senior libero Stevie Wolf led the defensive efforts in the back court with her 19 digs and 20 receptions, averaging 6.33 digs per set against the Hoyas, and was followed by Grace with 15 digs and 11 perfect receptions, averaging five digs per set.
• Carrigan O'Reilly registered 32 assists, raising her career total for assists to 4,147, averaging 10.67 assists per set, and tallied 11 digs to earn her 46th career double-double.
• Wolf and junior setter Logan Flaugh each dished up a service ace, the pair raising their respective season totals to 19 aces.
• The Musketeers totaled 50 kills, 43 assists, 62 digs, 12 block assists, two block solos, two service aces, and a team hitting percentage of .241 in the three-set match.
