Volleyball Tops Villanova in Reverse Sweep

CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball topped Villanova in a reverse sweep (17-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-8) on Sunday afternoon.
The Musketeers move to 16-9 (9-5 BIG EAST) on the season and the Wildcats fall to 16-10 (7-7 BIG EAST).
• Carrigan O'Reilly notched her sixth career triple-double in the victory over Villanova. The graduate setter totaled 11 kills, 21 assists, and 14 digs, raising her career total for assists to 4,168.
• Five Musketeers tallied double-digit kills in the five-set match, led by redshirt sophomore outside hitter and defensive specialist Emma Grace with 15. Middle blockers Delaney Hogan and Sarah Stevens posted 12 each, and sophomore outside hitter Caroline Speelman joined O'Reilly with 11.
• Sarah Stevens topped the charts with her match-high hitting percentage of .524 on 12 kills, one error, and 21 attempts. Following close behind was Delaney Hogan with her 12 kills, 2 errors, and 21 attempts, bringing her hitting percentage to .476.
• Delaney Hogan led the defensive efforts at the net with match-high of five total blocks, four assists and one solo. Emma Grace registered the match-high two block solos and Carrigan O'Reilly joined Hogan with the match-high of four block assists.
• Emma Grace led the defensive efforts in the backcourt with 24 receptions and 19 digs, a season-high in both categories for the outside hitter and defensive specialist. Grace was followed by senior libero Stevie Wolf with 18 receptions and 19 digs.
• Grace and Wolf were two of five Musketeers to record double-digit digs - junior setter Logan Flaugh caught 13, O'Reilly snagged 14, and junior defensive specialist Lucia Corsaro tallied 11.
• Flaugh and Grace each post a double-double in the match, the third of Flaugh's career and the seventh of Grace's. Flaugh's fell with the team-high in assists with 33 and her 13 digs. Grace's came with her 15 kills and 19 digs.
• Stevie Wolf and Emma Grace dealt the team-high of two service aces each against the Wildcats. O'Reilly and freshman defensive specialist Elouise Czajkowski tallied one to raise the team's total to six.
• The Musketeers totaled 64 kills, 60 assists, 79 digs, 10 block assists, three block solos, six service aces, and a team hitting percentage of .304 in the five-set match.
