No. 17 Women's Soccer Falls to Georgetown, Finishes Runners-Up at BIG EAST Championship

Musketeers find out NCAA Championship draw during Selection show on Monday at 4 PM
BOYDS, Md. - No. 17 Xavier women's soccer fell to Georgetown in the BIG EAST Championship match, 2-0, at the Maryland SoccerPlex on Sunday afternoon.
The Hoyas took the early lead, scoring in the first 15 minutes to take a 1-0 lead. Xavier held a 9-2 advantage on shots in the first 45 minutes, and a 4-1 advantage on shots on-goal, but were unable to score the equalizer before the break to go into the halftime down 1-0.
Georgetown added another tally about 20 minutes into the second half, and held the Musketeers off the board from the remainder of the match to take the 2-0 win.
Following the tournament, a trio of Musketeers, Sonia Vargas, Shelby Sallee and Natalie Bain, were named to the BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team.
The Musketeers await the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, set form Monday, Nov. 6 at 4:00 p.m., streamed on NCAA.com.
