Men's Basketball Hosts Winthrop On Saturday In The Skip Prosser Classic

CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 5-5, close out the non-conference portion of the schedule vs. the Winthrop University Eagles, 8-3, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the return of the Skip Prosser Classic. Winthrop's third-year head coach is Mark Prosser, son of the former Xavier and Wake head coach.
Xavier is coming off a win over crosstown rival Cincinnati, while Winthrop enters this game having won four straight games and seven of their last eight games.

• Xavier graduate student Quincy Olivari leads the BIG EAST in 3-point field goal percentage at 46.2 percent (30-65), including 6-8 vs. Cincinnati (5-5 in the second half) on Dec. 9. Olivari is third in the BIG EAST in 3-point field goals at 3.0 per game.
• Xavier's Quincy Olivari has scored in double figures nine times, including seven straight games. Olivari, who leads XU and is fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring at 17.2 ppg., earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll after averaging 30.5 ppg. for the last two games.
• Xavier sophomore Desmond Claude is second on the team in scoring at 15.6 ppg. (tied for 13th in the BIG EAST). Claude, the only Musketeer who has scored in double figures in every game, is the only returnee from last season that has played in a game.
• Xavier senior Dayvion McKnight leads the BIG EAST Conference in assist-to-turnover
ratio at 3.33. He is fifth in the BIG EAST in assists at 5.0 per game. He scored a season-high 20 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win over UC.
• Xavier senior Abou Ousmane recorded his first Xavier double-double with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in the win over Cincinnati, his sixth start of the season.
• Xavier head coach Sean Miller holds a 152-62 (.710) mark in his seventh season leading Xavier, which is good for third place on Xavier's all-time wins list.
• Xavier has 10 newcomers on the 2023-24 roster, including six freshmen and four transfers. All 10 newcomers have played this season.Â
