NOTABLES

• Xavier competed in five meets during the 2023 indoor season. The Musketeers combined to post 53 top-10 finishes at the meets with eight, first-place finishes.

• Claire Sievern highlighted the performances with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run at the Hoosier Hills meet on Feb. 10 and a first-place finish in the one-mile run at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Jan. 29. She posted a time of 4:50.06 in the one-mile run, a new school record.

• All told, Xavier has posted 17 top-10 performances in the Xavier record book (eight on the women's team; nine on the men's team) this season.

2022 INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

• The Xavier men placed eighth at the 2022 BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships, while the women placed ninth. Courtney Klatt had the top individual finish on the women's side, placing 10th in the one-mile run (4:58.61). On the men's side, Trevor Nolan finished 22nd in the 3,000-meter run (8:48.28).

COACH BURROUGHS

• Sam Burroughs was named the new head coach for cross country/track and field on Jan. 4, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after previously working as associate head coach at Cincinnati from 2013-20.

• Burroughs has over 20 years of collegiate experience. He has coached 96 individual conference champions and 46 individual NCAA qualifiers, while leading 18 teams to conference championship titles.
