Xavier wins its second straight tournament of the 2022-23 season
RIO VERDE, Ariz. - Xavier women's golf won its second straight tournament on Sunday, capturing the team title at the Rio Verde Invitational. The three-day tournament was held at Quail Run Golf Course in Rio Verde, Ariz.
The Musketeers finished 17 strokes ahead of Kennesaw State with a 54-hole score of 875 (+11). The field consisted of 18 teams.
Xavier has won the Rio Verde Invitational twice (also won the title in 2019). The Musketeers also placed second at the event in 2022 and third in 2020, respectively.
Xavier now has 11 top-two finishes dating back to the spring of 2021 (seven tournament titles; four runner-up finishes).
Emma McMyler took home medalist honors, posting a score of 217 (+1). The San Antonio, Texas, native earns medalist honors for the second time in as many tournaments. She now has 14 career top-10 finishes as a Musketeer with five medalist performances.
McMyler won a two-hole playoff with Central Michigan's Casilda Allendesalazar to break the tie.
