Xavier Looks to Win Third Straight Tournament at UNF Collegiate

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's golf looks to win its third straight tournament of the 2022-23 season, traveling to the UNF Collegiate on March 6-7. The two-day tournament is being held at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
Xavier is competing at the UNF Collegiate for the third time in as many seasons. The Musketeers placed 10th at the tournament last season on March 7-8.

• Xavier won its second straight tournament on Feb. 26, capturing the team title at the Rio Verde Invitational. The Musketeers finished 17 strokes ahead of Kennesaw State with a 54-hole score of 875 (+11). Xavier now has 11 top-two finishes dating back to the spring of 2021 (seven tournament titles; four runner-up finishes).
• Emma McMyler took home medalist honors, posting a score of 217 (+1). The San Antonio, Texas, native earns medalist honors for the second time in as many tournaments. She now has 14 career top-10 finishes as a Musketeer with five medalist performances.Â
• McMyler won a two-hole playoff with Central Michigan's Casilda Allendesalazar to break the tie.

• Xavier competed in four tournaments in the fall of 2022, posting a top-five finish in all four tournaments. Xavier won the Charlotte Invitational on Oct. 25 to wrap up the fall season. The Musketeers also posted a runner-up finish at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Oct. 9.
• Emma McMyler won medalist honors at the Charlotte Invitational on Oct. 25, hitting eight-under-par 208.Â
• The Musketeers finished the Ron Moore Intercollegiate with a score of 859 (-5), the first time Xavier has finished under par as a team. Xavier hit 278 (-10) in the final round, the lowest round of any team at tournament and a new program record for 18-hole team scoring. Xavier also had 23 birdies as a team, a new school record for birdies at a 54-hole tournament.
• Emma McMyler also won the individual title at the Jennifer Duke Invitational on Sept. 13. She tied Sophia Carlsen (Coastal Carolina) as both players hit 220 (+7) over three rounds of golf. McMyler would go on to birdie the playoff hole (hole 18) to secure the individual title.

• Emma McMyler placed tied for first at the 12th annual Patriot All-America at The Wigwam Golf Club on Dec. 31.The San Antonio, Texas, native posted a 54-hole score of 201 (-9) at the tournament. She tied for first with Arizona State's Grace Summerhays and San Jose State's Antonia Malate.Â
• McMyler posted a runner-up finish in the three-person playoff. Malate won on the fourth playoff hole with an eagle on hole No. 18.

• Head coach Breanna Jenco returns for her eighth season with the Musketeers. She earned BIG EAST Coach of the Year honors in the spring of 2022, picking up the accolades for the fourth time in her career.
• Xavier enters the season as the three-time defending BIG EAST Champions. The Musketeers won the the conference title on April 23, finishing 14 strokes ahead of Georgetown in the team standings. Xavier also advanced to its third straight NCAA Regional.
• Xavier returns eight letterwinners, including all five members of the BIG EAST Championship roster: Abby Kiefer, Emma McMyler, Kara Carter, Abby Whittington and Nathaly Munnicha.
• Abby Kiefer and Emma McMyler tied for first place at the BIG EAST Championships. McMyler was also named the BIG EAST Golfer of the Year for the second time in as many seasons, while Kara Carter picked up All-BIG EAST honors alongside McMyler.
