
Baseball Gets Homers from DeMartino and Schultz but Fall in Game Two at WVU

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -Â A pair of Musketeers had homers to keep pace with No. 24 West Virginia, but Mountaineers put up a four-run eighth to take 7-2 win.
WVU took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, holding it into the fourth. The Musketeers tied it up on a solo home run from Tyler DeMartino to left center in the fourth inning.
West Virginia responded with a solo shot of its own in the bottom of the inning to take the 2-1 lead, holding the advantage into seventh when Garrett Schultz hit a shot to left field to tie it up, 2-2.
The Mountaineers again responded in the bottom fo the frame, taking a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the eighth where a three-run homer followed by a solo shot broke the game open, setting the final score at 7-2 in favor of WVU.
The three-game series with West Virginia wraps up on Saturday, set for a 1:00 p.m. start on ESPN+.Â
