Men's Tennis Earns No. 6 Seed in BIG EAST Tournament

Musketeers face No. 3 seed Georgetown on Friday afternoon
NEW YORK - Xavier men's tennis earned the No. 6 seed in the 2023 BIG EAST Tournament, and open play in the Quarterfinals against No. 3 seeded Georgetown on Friday, April 21. The Hoyas and the Musketeers are set to get underway at 4:30 p.m. at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center in Cayce, S.C.
The Musketeers enter the post season at 12-8 overall with a 2-3 record against BIG EAST play. Last year's squad advanced to the BIG EAST Semifinals for the first time since 2016 after earning the No. 3 seed, the program's highest seed in the BIG EAST Championship since joining the conference in 2013-14. The 2021-22 Musketeers finished the season at 12-9 overall, the most wins since the 2015-16 season.
Georgetown enters the post season at 11-8 overall with a 4-2 record in BIG EAST matches. The Musketeers and the Hoyas last faced off in February 2020, with GU taking the 4-3 win in Cincinnati.
