Women's Tennis Earns No. 1 Seed in BIG EAST Tournament, Opens Play Friday

Musketeers will face either Marquette or Villanova at 9 AM
NEW YORK - Xavier women's tennis earned the No. 1 seed in the 2023 BIG EAST Championship, and will open play on Friday, April 21 at 9:00 a.m., in the Quarterfinals in Cayce, S.C.
The Musketeers are 11-7 overall and 3-0 against BIG EAST opponents on the season. Xavier heads into the tournament looking for a third-straight, and fourth overall, BIG EAST Championship and bid to the NCAA Championships.
The Musketeers will face the winner of the first round match between No. 8 seed Marquette and No. 9 seed Villanova, set for Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center. The Musketeers took a 4-3 win over Marquette last Friday in Cincinnati. The Musketeers last faced Villanova in 2019, a 7-0 win for the Musketeers in Villanova, Pa.
