CINCINNATI - Xavier track and field travels to the Rick Erdmann Twilight on April 21-22. The two-day meet is being hosted by Eastern Kentucky at Tom Samuels Track in Richmond, Ky.

The meet will start at 2 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT

• Xavier competed at the Tennessee Invite on April 7-8. The two-day meet was hosted by Tennessee at Tom Black Track.

• Claire Sievern highlighted the meet by winning one race (800-meter run) and setting a school record in another (1,500-meter run). The previous 1,500-meter run record was set by Rachel Clark in 2012 (posted a time of 4:27.39 at the Cardinal Twilight).

• Sievern has now won two races during her track and field career (won the 800-meter run at the Hoosier Hills meet on Feb. 10, 2023).

• Sievern has now set three school records this season. The Evansville, Ind., native also holds Xavier's indoor track record for the one-mile run (4:49.43) and the outdoor track record in the 800-meter run (2:08.60).

• Trevor Nolan paced the men's team with a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:13.00).

COACH BURROUGHS

• Sam Burroughs was named the new head coach for cross country/track and field on Jan. 4, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after previously working as associate head coach at Cincinnati from 2013-20.

• Burroughs has over 20 years of collegiate experience. He has coached 96 individual conference champions and 46 individual NCAA qualifiers, while leading 18 teams to conference championship titles.
