Claire Sievern Breaks Another School Record, Day One Complete at Tennessee Invite

Sievern placed fifth in the 1,500-meter run on Friday night in a school-record time of 4:26.60

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Xavier track and field wrapped up day one action at the Tennessee Invite on Friday night. The two-day meet is being hosted by Tennessee at Tom Black Track.

Claire Sievern highlighted the meet by breaking the school record in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:26.60. The previous record was set by Rachel Clark in 2012 (posted a time of 4:27.39 at the Cardinal Twilight).

Sievern has now set three school records this season. The Evansville, Ind., native also holds Xavier's indoor track record for the one-mile run (4:49.43) and the outdoor track record in the 800-meter run (2:08.60).
