LAST TIME OUT

• Xavier competed at the Raleigh Relays on March 23-25. The three-day meet was hosted by N.C. State at Paul Derr Track & Field Facility.

• Claire Sievern highlighted the meet by breaking the school record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.60. The previous record was set by Rachel Clark in 2012 (posted a time of 2:10.15 at the Atlantic-10 Championships).

• Sievern has now set two school records this season. The Evansville, Ind., native also set Xavier's indoor track record for the one-mile run (4:49.43).

COACH BURROUGHS

• Sam Burroughs was named the new head coach for cross country/track and field on Jan. 4, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after previously working as associate head coach at Cincinnati from 2013-20.

• Burroughs has over 20 years of collegiate experience. He has coached 96 individual conference champions and 46 individual NCAA qualifiers, while leading 18 teams to conference championship titles.
