Trevor Nolan took home the bronze medal in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday night

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Xavier track and field wrapped up day one action at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday night. The two-day meet is being held at Villanova Stadium.

Trevor Nolan and Claire Sievern highlighted day one at the championships as they both re-established the school records they held in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 800-meter run.

Nolan took home the bronze medal in the steeplechase, posting a time of 8:52.30. Sievern placed fourth in the prelims of the 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:06.32. She advances to the finals heat in the event on Saturday.

All told, Xavier had eight top-10 performances and had eight student-athletes post personal-best times in their respective events.
