Xavier Volleyball Reveals Fall 2023 Schedule

CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball revealed its 2023 schedule which consists of 30 matches. The Musketeers will officially open the season with the Cincinnati Tournament on August 25-27.
In the 2022 season, the Musketeers posted a 21-12 (11-7 BIG EAST) record, earned a third-place finish in both the BIG EAST regular season and tournament, and saw postseason action in the NIVC. Â

• The 2023 volleyball schedule consists of 30 games with 12 non-conference opponents. Â
• The Musketeers will be in action at home in Cintas Center for 15 matches and will face opponents on the road for the other 15.
• Xavier will face teams from 11 different conferences in the 51st season of the program (BIG EAST, Horizon League, Big 12, SWAC, MVC, Pac-12, Big Sky, C-USA, MAC, SEC, ASUN).
• The Musketeers will participate in three tournaments - the Cincinnati Tournament, Colorado Tournament and the Xavier Tournament.
• Xavier will face crosstown rival Cincinnati during the Cincinnati Tournament in the opening weekend of play for the Musketeers. The Cincinnati Bearcats are entering their first season in the Big 12 Conference.
• The 18-game BIG EAST slate begins on the road at Butler on Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. and concludes on the road at Creighton on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. ET.
• The Musketeers will face seven teams that saw action in the 2023 postseason: Marquette (NCAA Sweet 16), Creighton (NCAA First Round), Northern Colorado (NCAA First Round), Colorado (NCAA First Round), Buffalo (NIVC First Round), St. John's (NIVC Second Round), Alabama State (NIVC First Round).
• The 2023 BIG EAST Tournament will be hosted by Marquette in Milwaukee Nov. 22-25.

• Head Coach Christy Pfeffenberger enters her ninth season at the helm of the program. Last season, Pfeffenberger earned her 100th career win early in the season against Butler and continued to lead the program to the most successful record since 2013.
• Returning alongside Pfeffenberger is Associate Head Coach Ed Tolentino in his eighth season with the program and Assistant Coach Andre Foster in his second year.
• Xavier volleyball will be comprised of two graduates, three seniors, five juniors, one sophomore and six freshmen.
• The Musketeers will return 11 letterwinners from the 2022 roster: All-BIG EAST selections Carrigan O'Reilly, Brooklyn Cink, and Delaney Hogan are making their return to the program.
• In the 2022 season, the Musketeers recorded eight sweeps, eight five-set wins, their first postseason victory, the longest road win streak since 2014, the best total season record since 2013, and their first trip to the BIG EAST Tournament since 2016.
