Xavier Secures Series Victory with 4-1 Win Over Creighton in Game Two

Bosacker, Kelly combine to limit Creighton to season-low matching two hits
OMAHA, Neb. -Â Another strong performance on the mound by the Musketeers helped Xavier to a 4-1 win over Creighton in game two of the three-game series, securing the series victory. Xavier moved to 29-17 overall and 10-4 in BIG EAST play.
Xavier took the lead early with two runs on four hits in the first inning, with RBIs from Matt McCormick and Carter Hendrickson. The Musketeers moved ahead 3-0 in the second with a sac fly from Andrew Walker.
Creighton scored a run in the fourth to cut the lead to three, but a solo home run from Matt McCormick in the fifth pushed the Xavier advantage back to three, 4-1.
On the mound, Ethan Bosacker and Jonathan Kelly combined to limit the Bluejays to one run on two hits, finishing with 13 strikeouts and just two walks.
The two hits for the Bluejays match Xavier pitching's season low for hits allowed (Butler - 4/7) and also matches Creighton's season low for hits in a game.
The series wraps up on Sunday, May 7, with game three set for a 12:00 p.m. ET start on FloSports.
