Women's Soccer Takes 2-0 Win Over Northeastern to Open Season

CINCINNATI - RV Xavier women's soccer opened up the 2023-24 Xavier Athletics season with a win, taking down Northeastern, 2-0, at Corcoran Field on Thursday evening.
Xavier took a 1-0 lead about 20 minutes into the match, with Samantha Wiehe scoring from Kennedy Clark and Olivia Lawson, taking the lead into the locker room at halftime. Clark picked up two more points about 10 minutes into the second half, scoring off an assist from Emma Flick to make it a 2-0 lead.Â
The Musketeers held the Huskies to five shots total, with just two on frame, and did not allow a NU chance in the first half.
Xavier remains at home for its next match, hosting Louisville on Sunday, August 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Corcoran Field
