Volleyball Defeats Alabama State in Straight Sets to Achieve Cincinnati Tournament Sweep

The Musketeers close out the Cincinnati Tournament undefeated and move to 3-0 on the season
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball defeated Alabama State in straight sets (25-17, 25-14, 25-20) and closed out the Cincinnati Tournament undefeated.
The Musketeers exit opening weekend at 3-0 (0-0 BIG EAST) while the Hornets continue on at 0-3 (0-0 SWAC).
• Senior middle blocker Delaney Hogan and redshirt sophomore outside hitter Emma Grace shared the team-high of 11 kills against the Hornets.
• With her 11 kills, Hogan also recorded three service aces, one block assist, one block solo, and hit for .500.
• Grace posted the game-high hitting percentage of .769 and added one block assist and two digs to the stats.
• Quinci Thomas, a freshman outside hitter, had her first career appearance and tallied seven kills hitting .455 with four receptions.
• Logan Flaugh had a near career-tying day with 25 assists and 10 digs, picking up her first double-double of the season. The junior setter also posted two block solos, the match-high.
• Graduate setter Carrigan O'Reilly added an additional 10 assists to her career total of 3,511 while also tallying two kills, one service ace, nine digs, and one block assist.
• Senior libero Stevie Wolf and freshman defensive specialist Elouise Czajkowski each saw double digit receptions. Wolf tallied 15 with Czajkowski close behind at 13.
• Redshirt junior Sarah Stevens hit for .500 against the Hornets with six kills and one block assist.
• Hogan and junior defensive specialist Lucia Corsaro each dealt three service aces with O'Reilly and Wolf contributing one apiece.
• The Musketeers totaled 44 kills, 41 assists, 45 digs, eight service aces, four block solos, and six block assists in the 3-0 victory.
Xavier will depart for Boulder, Colo. to face Colorado, Northern Colorado, and Charlotte in the Colorado Tournament from Sept. 1-3.
