Musketeers and Billikens set to face off at 8:00 pm ET on ESPN+
CINCINNATI - No. 25 Xavier women's soccer (3-1-0) remains on the road for its next match-up, traveling to No. 23 Saint Louis on Thursday evening. The Musketeers and the Panthers are set for a 8:00 p.m. ET start on ESPN+.
The Musketeers remained in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 this week, coming in at No. 25 after splitting a pair of games last week, falling, 1-0, to Illinois and topping WKU, 5-1.

- SLU is 3-1 on the season, picking up wins over Kansas City, Utah State and Creighton, with the loan setback coming against No. 13 BYU in the season opener.
- The Billikens, who were ranked No. 21 in the preseason USC Poll, are ranked in the top 25 in three polls, coming in at No. 23 in the United Soccer Coaches poll, No. 13 in College Soccer News and No. 14 in Top Drawer Soccer.
- SLU went 20-2 last season, with a 10-0 record in A10 play to win the league's regular season title.
- The Billikens, who were ranked No. 10 in the postseason, won the A10 Tournament and earned a bid to the NCAA Championship, falling to Memphis in the first round.

- After collecting three points on a goal and an assist in Xavier's 5-1 win over Western Kentucky, forward Regan Dancer earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
- Dancer, a sophomore from South Lyon, Mich., picked up a point on an assist midway through the first half against the Hilltoppers, setting up Samantha Wiehe for the goal to give Xavier the 1-0 lead. She also collected a pair of points on a second-half goal, her first of the season, to give Xavier the 4-1 advantage in the second half against WKU.
- Dancer finished with five shots total through two games last week after leading the Musketeers with four shots at home against Illinois.

LAST TIME OUT |
- The Musketeers picked up a 5-1 win at Western Kentucky on Sunday afternoon.
- Samantha Wiehe's second goal of the season, scored from Regan Dancer, gave Xavier a 1-0 lead midway through the first half. Xavier held the lead in the final minute of the half, when WKU equalized, tapping the ball in off a long pass to even the score at 1-1.
- The Musketeers responded seconds later, with Izzie Wallace getting the ball outside the top of the penalty box, shooting to the upper right corner in the final seconds for the 2-1 halftime lead.
- Less than 10 minutes into a second half, Xavier added another goal to the lead, with Samantha Wiehe setting Kennedy Clark up for her second goal of the season.
- Xavier added two more tallies, with Regan Dancer scoring from Jane Olcott, and Madison Ayson scoring from Emma Flick, to set the final score at 5-1, the most goals for the Musketeers in a single game since the 2019 season.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE |
- Xavier has a bye this weekend, returning to the field on Thursday, Sept. 7, to host No. 21 Pitt at Corcoran Field. The Musketeers and the Panthers are set for a 7:00 p.m. start on FloSports.
- The Panthers are 4-0 on the season with wins over Buffalo, Drexel, Kent State and Bucknell. Pitt will host Duquesne and Bowling Green prior to facing the Musketeers.
- Pitt went 14-5-3 overall last season, with a 5-3-2 mark in ACC play. The Panthers, who were ranked in the top-25 at the end of the season, played No. 4 Notre Dame to a draw but fell in PKs in the first round of the ACC Tournament.
- The Panthers earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, with a No. 4 national seed, and advanced to the Sweet 16 with wins over Buffalo and Georgetown, before falling to No. 5 Florida State.
- Xavier is 0-3-1 all-time against the Panthers, with the last match-up happening in 2017, a 1-1 draw.

2022 SEASON |
- Xavier, which is currently ranked No. 25 after receiving votes in the USC Preseason Poll, is coming off a 14-4-5 season in 2022.
- The Musketeers went 6-0-4 in BIG EAST play to finish second in the league standings, marking the first unbeaten conference slate in program history.
- Xavier earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship for a second-straight season, the program's fifth NCAA bid overall.
- In the NCAA Tournament, Xavier advanced for the second time in program history with a 4-1 double overtime win at Tennessee in the first round.

- The Musketeers return 19 letterwinners in all from last season, and added a pair of transfers in addition to a 10-person freshman class for the 2023 season.
- Xavier returns a trio of all-conference honorees from last season, with goalkeeper Maria Galley and defender Natalie Bain earning All-BIG EAST Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors, and forward Regan Dancer picking up a nod to the All-Freshman squad.
- Bain and junior midfielder Ella Rogers were selected to the 2023 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.
