Musketeers heads to Cincinnati on Friday, hosts Bellarmine on Saturday
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming remains in Cincinnati for a pair of meets this weekend, traveling to Cincinnati on Friday, Jan 19, set for a 3:00 p.m. start. The Musketeers return to the pool on Saturday, January 20, hosting Bellarmine for the Senior Celebration meet. Events begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Heidt Family Champions Center.
Following the meet against Bellarmine, Xavier will next be in action on Sunday, January 28, traveling to Fishers, Ind. for the Butler Invite, starting at noon.

OPPONENT INFO - CINCINNATI
- The Cincinnati men finished second at last year's AAC Championship, while the women finished fifth.
- At last season's dual, the Musketeers collected 10 event wins against the Bearcats, with the women falling 181-106 and the men falling,197-97.
OPPONENT INFO - BELLARMINE
- Bellarmine's men finished fifth at last season's CCSA Championship, while the women finished 11th at the conference meet.
- At last season's dual, Xavier's men and women combined to win 21 events on the way to a sweep of the Knights.
LAST TIME OUT - MEN
- Xavier was last in action in a two-day meet at Oakland, running last Friday and Saturday.
- Aiden Leamer collected two events wins, taking the 100 fly in a time of 48.60 and the 200 fly with a time of 1:48.75. He also set a personal-best time of 22.11 in the 50 fly to place third.
- Nathan Wall won the 400 IM with a time of 4:00.31. He also tied for second in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.65, a personal-best time, and set a personal-best time of 2:03.13 in the 200 breast to finish third.
- Luke Peterson took the top spot in the 1,650 free with a time of 15:58.97. He also collected a second place finish in the 500 free on Saturday with a time of 4:37.83.
- Michael Benington place second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:02.21. He collected third place finishes in the 100 back, 200 back and the 200 IM.
- Ryan Knipp finished second in two events, setting a time of 1:41.32 in the 200 free and finishing the in mile with a time of 16:09.69. He also place third in Saturday's 500 free.
- Kyle Hudson tied for second in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.65.
- Aiden Leamer, Kyle Hudson, Gage Hannewyk and CJ Sorensen closed out the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 free relay, setting a time of 1:22.81.
- Xavier's men finished with four event wins, falling 367.5-156.5.
LAST TIME OUT - WOMEN
- Xavier was last in action in a two-day meet at Oakland, running last Friday and Saturday.
- Kali Fischer won three individual events, taking the 100 back with a time of 56.20, the 200 free with a time of 1:50.81 and the 500 free with a time of 5:00.88. She also picked up a second-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 2:01.65.
- Olivia Oyster collected two event wins, taking the 50 free on Friday with a time of 23.01, then following that with a time 50.98 to win the 100 free.
- Jordyn Libler took a pair of individual wins, winning the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.87 and the 200 breast with a time of 2:19.40. She also placed second in the 50 breast with a time of 29.57.
- Erin Ritz took the top spot in the 100 fly with a time of 55.80, and set a personal-best time of 25.04 in the 50 fly to win the event.
- Reese Turner won a pair of events, taking the 50 back in 26.48 and the 100 back in 56.51.
- Clara Keiser won the 500 free with a time of 5:02.62.
- Norah Simich, setting a personal-best time of 2:01.80 to win the 200 fly, the top time by a Musketeer in the event this season. She also place second in the 100 fly with a personal-best time of 55.87
- Emily Guerrera won the 400 IM with a time of 4:34.41.
- The Musketeers won three of the four relays, with Kali Fischer, Jordyn Libler, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster taking the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:42.85, and the same squad taking the the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:45.72. Oyster, Reese Turner, Fischer and Alexis Worrall also won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:33.87.
- Xavier's women won 17 of the 28 racing events but fell, 269-254.
WEEKLY AWARDS
- After leading Xavier men's swimming in scoring during a two-day meet at Oakland to open the spring, sophomore Aiden Leamer was named the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week on the men's side.
- During the two day meet, Leamer collected two first place finishes and a third place finish in individual events and helped Xavier to a silver and two bronze finishes in relays.
- On the first day at Oakland, Leamer took first in the 200 fly with a time of 1:48.75. He also place fifth in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.17. In the opening relay, Leamer swam the fly leg of the 200 medley relay to help Xavier pick up a third-place finish. On day two at Oakland, Leamer won the 100 fly in a time of 48.60. He also set a personal-best time of 22.11 in the 50 fly to place third. He took part in a pair of relays, swimming the first leg of the second-place finishing 200 free relay, and the fly leg of the third-place finishing 400 medley relay.
- This is Leamer's second Athlete of the Week honor of the season.
- On the women's side, three Musketeers were named Notable performers. During Xavier's dual meet versus Oakland, Erin Ritz swam the fastest 50 fly of any conference competitor this season, winning the event in 25.04. Fellow Musketeers Olivia Oyster and Jordyn Libler contributed two first-place finishes a piece with Oyster claiming the 50 (23.01) and 100 free (50.98) and Libler taking the 100 (1:03.87) and 200 breast (2:19.40).
XAVIER MEN
- The Xavier men placed second at last season's BIG EAST meet, winning seven events with 10 Musketeers earning All-Conference, led by BIG EAST Most Outstanding Swimmer Andrew Martin.
- The Musketeers return eight All-Conference performers who helped Xavier to seven event wins and a narrow second-place finish. Ethan Saunders led the returnees, earning All-BIG EAST in five events, and Matthew Adanin, Michael Benington, Gage Hannewyk, Kyle Hudson, Aiden Leamer, Jack Parker and Nathan Wall were also named to the all-conference team.
- Xavier also returns an additional six letter winners from last year's squad.
- The Musketeers added nine newcomers to the roster for the 2023-24 season.

- The Xavier women are coming off a fourth-place finish at last season's BIG EAST Championships, returning four Musketeers who earned All-BIG EAST honors, Kali Fischer, Erin Ritz, Olivia Oyster and Clara Keiser.
- The women's roster included 15 letter winners from last season.
- Xavier added six newcomers to the roster for the 2023-24 season.
