Men's Tennis Wraps Up Action at ITA Ohio Valley Regionals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Xavier men's tennis wrapped up fall tournament action over the weekend at the ITA Ohio Valley Fall Regional, held at Purdue's Schwartz Tennis Center.

Three Musketeers took part in the main singles draw, with Ryan Cahill earning an automatic spot in the bracket. Cahill faced Alex Kotzen of Tennessee in the round of 64, falling 6-4, 6-2. Cahill also faced Alan Jesudason of Tennessee in the Main Draw's Consolation Bracket, falling 6-1, 6-1.

Pascal Mosberger earned a berth in the main draw after picking up a win in the Qualifying Bracket Round of 64, topping Evan Duggal of Louisville, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. He fell to Callum Markowitz of Vanderbilt in the Qualifying Bracket Round of 32, but earned the chance to play Kyle McNally of Dayton in the Main Draw Round of 64, falling in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. Mosberger also picked up a win over Gabriel Castillo-Sanchez of UTC, 4-6, 6-4, 10-3, in the Main Draw's Consolation Bracket.

Marco Pennelli advanced in the Qualifying Bracket Round of 64 against Butler's Nicholas Arts on an injury retirement, leading 6-7 (4), 7-5, 2-0 in the third set. Pennelli fell 6-1, 6-3 to Indiana's Braeden Gelletich in the Qualifying Bracket's Round of 32, but earned a spot in the Main Draw. In the Round of 64, Pennelli fell to Benjamin Pomeranets of Indiana, 6-1, 6-3, but picked up a win in the Main Draw Consolation Bracket, against UTC's Ryan Mudre, 6-4, 6-0.

Christian Gonzalez also picked up a win in the Qualifying Bracket's Round of 64, defeating Steven Paz of IU Indy, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. In the Qualifying Round of 32, Gonzalez fell to Daniel Labrador of Purdue, 6-0, 3-6, 6-0.

Charlie Temming took part in the Qualifying Bracket, falling to Ryan Mudre of UTC, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, in the Round of 64. He also played in the Main Draw Consolation Bracket, falling to UTC's Cortland Grove, 6-2, 6-2.

Kyle Totorica played Lipscomb's Oskar Szymczak in the Qualifying Round of 64, falling 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 He then picked up a win in the Main Draw Consolation Bracket, topping UTC's Ethan Carr, 6-0, 6-3.

Alex Kotarski took part in the Qualifying Bracket's consolation round, falling to Purdue's Mujtaba Ali-Khan, 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles play, Andrew Spurck and Marco Pennelli picked up a win in the Main Draw's Round of 64, topping Skigelstrand and Nygaard of Dayton, 8-4. In the Round of 32, the pair fell to Simeunovic and Villanger of Purdue, 8-3.

Ryan Cahill and Pascal Mosberger combined for a win in the Main Draw's Round of 64, topping Indiana's Kolyachev and Pomeranets, 8-6. The pair fell to Viste and Kozerski of IU Indy in tiebreaks, 8-7 (7), in the Round of 32.

Charlie Temming and Christian Gonzalez picked up a 8-6 win over Grove and Jupa of UTC in the Round of 64 in the Main Draw. The duo fell to Butler's Joss and Singh, 8-4, in the Round of 32.

Kyle Totorica and Alex Kotarski also paired up in the Main Draw Round of 64, falling to Louisville's Steveker/Nakanshi, 8-3.
