
Trevor Nolan Earns All-BIG EAST Honors at Cross Country Championships

Xavier men place fifth, the team's highest finish at a conference championship meet since 2004
LEESBURG, Va. - Trevor Nolan highlighted the 2024 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Friday, placing 12th in the Men's 8K race and earning all-conference second-team honors for the second time in as many seasons. The meet was co-hosted by Georgetown University and Trials of Miles at Morven Park in Leesburg, Va.
Nolan posted a time of 24:18.49, nearly breaking his own school record in the race set earlier this season (24:17.30 at the Bradley Pink Classic on Oct. 18). The 12th-place finish is the highest by any male Xavier runner since Tom Ohlman at the 2012 Atlantic-10 Championships (4th place - 25:53.20).
The Brownsburg, Ind., native placed 20th at the 2023 BIG EAST Championships, becoming the first Xavier male runner to earn all-conference honors since the Musketeers joined the conference in 2013-14.
The Xavier men placed fifth as a team with 164 points, finishing five points ahead of Creighton (169 points). The fifth-place finish is the highest for the Xavier men at a BIG EAST Cross Country Championship and the team's highest team finish since 2004 (placed third at the Atlantic-10 Championships).
The Xavier women placed seventh in the team standings for the fourth straight season. Individually, Grace Zdankiewicz led the women's team - placing 43rd in the 6K Race (22:18.93).
Villanova took home the men's team title, defeating Butler by six points. Villanova's Liam Murphy won the individual title with a time of 23:12.83.
On the women's side, Georgetown won the team title - finishing one point ahead of Providence. UConn's Chloe Thomas won the 6K Race with a time of 19:36.60.
Xavier returns to action at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Nov. 15 in Norton, Ohio.
