CINCINNATI - Xavier cross country continues its season at the 2024 NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, Nov. 15. The meet is being co-hosted by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and Mid-American Conference at Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton, Ohio.

LAST TIME OUT

Trevor Nolan highlighted the 2024 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1, placing 12th in the Men's 8K race and earning all-conference second-team honors for the second time in as many seasons. The meet was co-hosted by Georgetown University and Trials of Miles at Morven Park in Leesburg, Va.
Nolan posted a time of 24:18.49, nearly breaking his own school record in the race set earlier this season (24:17.30 at the Bradley Pink Classic on Oct. 18). The 12th-place finish is the highest by any male Xavier runner since Tom Ohlman at the 2012 Atlantic-10 Championships (4th place - 25:53.20). The Brownsburg, Ind., native placed 20th at the 2023 BIG EAST Championships, becoming the first Xavier male runner to earn all-conference honors since the Musketeers joined the conference in 2013-14.
The Xavier men placed fifth as a team with 164 points, finishing five points ahead of Creighton (169 points). The fifth-place finish is the highest for the Xavier men at a BIG EAST Cross Country Championship and the team's highest team finish since 2004 (placed third at the Atlantic-10 Championships).
The Xavier women placed seventh in the team standings for the fourth straight season. Individually, Grace Zdankiewicz led the women's team - placing 43rd in the 6K Race (22:18.93).

NOTABLES

The women's team returns three runners from last year's BIG EAST Championship roster: Jamie Klavon, Grace McKay and Grace Zdankiewicz. Xavier finished seventh in the team standings.
The men's team returns three runners from last year's BIG EAST Championship roster: Drew Allen, Will Garey and Trevor Nolan. Xavier finished seventh in the team standings.
Nolan highlighted the championship meet as he placed 20th in the Men's 8K Race in a time of 26:00.04. He earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors, becoming the first Xavier men's runner to earn all-conference honors since Tom Ohlman picked up the recognition in 2012. The 20th-place finish is also the highest finish for a Xavier men's runner since 2012 (Tom Ohlman placed 4th at the A-10 Championships).
The two teams combined to post six top-10 marks in the school record book, including one new program record (Trevor Nolan - 10K - 31:05.00 - NCAA Great Lakes Regional).
