Lewis is a consensus top 60 recruit.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University Sedler Family Head Basketball Coach Sean Miller announced the signing of decorated prep standout Nyk Lewis, a 6-2 guard from Washington, D.C., and Gonzaga High School, to an Athletics Aid Agreement. Lewis is a top 60 recruit in the ESPN Top 100 (52), Rivals Top 100 (57) and the 247Sports Top 100 (59).
"We are thrilled to welcome Nyk to our Xavier Basketball family," said Miller. "Nyk is an elite competitor. He is a point guard who fits our fast-paced style of play, while also being able to defend the ball at a high level. Nyk has an incredible basketball background, playing for one of the best high school programs in the country in Gonzaga College High School, thriving for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL circuit and has also competed for USA Basketball. We can't wait to get Nyk on campus."
Lewis, a four-star recruit, averaged 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists as a junior for Gonzaga High School, helping the Eagles finish runner-up in the vaunted Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. Lewis was named to The Washington Post's All-Met First Team and the First Team All-State DCSAA for the second straight year. Lewis, who also earned First Team All WCAC honors, has scored over 1,000 points and counting as he heads into his senior season playing for head coach Steve Turner.
Lewis' impressive resume goes well beyond Gonzaga. Lewis, a USA Basketball member, was an NBA Top 100 Camp invite. He is a two-time Peach Jam Champion in the 16/17u category, playing for Team Takeover.
