Senanou Taken Sixth Overall by Colorado Rapids in MLS SuperDraft 2025

CINCINNATI - Matthew Senanou was selected by the Colorado Rapids in the MLS SuperDraft 2025 on Friday afternoon. He was the sixth overall pick (first round) in the draft, becoming the highest MLS Draft pick in program history.

The junior defender played in 36 career matches during his collegiate career, including 33 matches at Xavier (2023-24). He had four career goals in 2,139 minutes of action.

Senanou led the Musketeers in scoring during the 2024 season with three goals. He helped the defense post seven shutouts with a 1.12 goals against average.

In two seasons at Xavier, Senanou helped the defense post 16 total shutouts. The Chicago native also helped the Musketeers capture the 2023 BIG EAST Tournament Title, the first BIG EAST title in program history. The Musketeers also advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2023, the team's fifth appearance in school history and the first appearance since 2014.
