OMAHA, Neb. - Xavier women's basketball fell at No. 23 Creighton, 99-57, on Tuesday night at D. J. Sokol Arena.
The Musketeers fall to 1-25 (0-17 BIG EAST), while the Blue Jays improve to 23-4 (14-3 BIG EAST).
Xavier led Creighton, 7-6, in the opening minutes of the game before the Bluejays closed the quarter on an 18-5 run - taking a 24-12 advantage. The Musketeers closed within nine points two times in the second quarter, but Creighton took a 13-point lead into the break (43-30).
Creighton led by double figures for the remainder of the game and pulled away for the 42-point victory behind a .609 field-goal percentage (39-for-64). The 99 points are the second most points in a game this season for the nationally ranked Blue Jays.
