
Xavier Men's Swimming Places Second, Women Place Fourth at 2024 BIG EAST Championships

Teams combine to win six event championships on final day of four-day meet
The two teams combined for 15 event titles and set new school records in 14 events over the course of the four-day meet. Xavier's men collected 10 gold medals, including going 5-for-5 on first place finishes in relays. On the women's side, the Musketeers collected a program-best five gold medals, and set new program records nine events.
- Emily Guerrera led Xavier in the mile with a time of 17:24.32 to place 11th. Sydney Smith scored in 13th place and Abby Bocian placed 18th.
- Kali Fischer led three Musketeers in the Championship final of the 200 back, placing fourth with a time of 1:59.39. Reese Turner and Charlie Ramey also took part in the A-Final, placing seventh and eighth respectively.
- Amy Van Son and Julia Sweetman took part in the Consolation final of the 200 back, placing 10th and 15th respectively.
- Olivia Oyster, who set a school-record time of 49.54 in the prelims of the 100 free, became the first Xavier woman to win the conference title in the event since 2002, taking gold with a time of 50.07. Alexis Worrall placed second with a time of 50.12. Clara Keiser also earned a spot in the Championship final, placing eighth.
- Jordyn Libler set a school record time in the prelims of the 200 breast, and bested that with a new program-best mark and NCAA B-Cut time of 2:13.54 to place second.
- Emily Guerrera took the top spot in the Consolation final of the 200 breast, and Emma Amon and Kate Lair also took part in the B-Final, while Molly Dynda took part in the Bonus final.
- After breaking her own school record in the prelims of the 200 fly, Erin Ritz shaved over three seconds off that time in finals, finishing in 1:57.49, a new program-best mark and an NCAA B-Cut time, on the way to taking the BIG EAST Championship in the event. Norah Simich placed third in the Championship final with a time of 2:00.09.
- Alexis Worrall, Clara Keiser, Reese Turner and Kali Fischer set a time of 3:22.75 in the 400 free relay, the final event on the women's side, to place second.
- Xavier collected 1086.5 points over the course of the meet, finishing fourth out of seven teams. Villanova won the league championship for the 11th straight year.

- Luke Peterson led the Xavier men in the mile, placing fifth with a time of 15:40.69, and Adam Lamping scored just behind him in sixth place, after leading his heat with a time of 15:48.54. Caz Mikula placed 10th and Ryan Knipp scored in 12th.
- Michael Benington, the top qualifier in the 200 back in prelims, won the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 1:47.07. Matthew Adanin also took part in the Championship final, placing seventh.
- Matt Fralic and Aiden Neuman took part in the Consolation final of the 200 back.
- Kyle Hudson led Xavier in the 100 free, placing third with a time of 44.58. Gage Hannewyk and CJ Sorensen also took part in the Championship final, placing sixth and seventh, respectively.
- Ethan Saunders set a new program record in the 200 breast, setting a time of 1:57.80 to take first in the event. Nathan Wall also took part in the Championship final, placing seventh.
- Brayden Mandacina took first in the Consolation final of the 200 breast, and Jon Mason scored in 13th place swimming in the B-Final.
- Aiden Leamer broke his own school record and set an NCAA B-Cut time of 1:44.81 in the Championship final of the 200 fly, taking first place. Jack Parker also swam in the A-Final, placing eighth.
- Caleb Petranchuk took the top spot in Consolation final of the 200 fly.
- Xavier closed out the meet with CJ Sorensen, Ethan Saunders, Gage Hannewyk and Kyle Hudson taking gold in the 400 free relay with a time of 2:58.29.
- Xavier collected 764 points over the four-day meet, placing second to Georgetown.
