Xavier Falls in the Series Finales at Seton Hall

Musketeers face Miami (Ohio) and NKU in midweek match-ups next
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.  - Xavier baseball fell in the series finale at Seton Hall, 10-1, to finish the series at 2-1 against the Pirates. The Musketeers moved to 20-19 overall with a 5-4 record in BIG EAST play.
Pirate runs in the first and second gave SHU a 3-0 lead going into the fifth, where Seton Hall stretched the lead to 5-0.
In the sixth, Aedan Anderson took a lead-off walk, moved to second when Jared Cushing reached on an error and moved to third on a wild pitch. A ground out from Matt McCormick brought Anderson home to get the Musketeers on the board at 5-1.
Seton Hall scored two more in the seventh to stretch the lead out to 7-1, and three more Pirate runs in the eighth set the final score at 10-1.
Next week, the Musketeers will play a pair of midweek games, traveling to Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday, March 23, set for a 3:00 p.m. start, and then hosting Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, March 24, at 3:00 p.m.
