Musketeers host NKU on Wednesday at 3 PM

OXFORD, Ohio - Xavier baseball fell in the first of two midweek match-ups, with Miami (Ohio) taking an 11-1 win at McKie Field on Tuesday afternoon. The Musketeers moved to 20-20 on the season.

The RedHawks scored runs in the first and second frames to lead 5-0 going into the third. In the top of the third, Aedan Anderson got aboard on with a walk and scored on a single from Jared Cushing to get the Musketeers on the board at 5-1.

Miami scored runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh to take a 10-1 lead into the eighth inning, where a solo home run in the bottom of the frame ended the game on a run rule at 11-1.

The Musketeers will host Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, April 24, set for a 3:00 p.m. start at Hayden Field.

AT THE PLATE

Jared Cushing went 1-of-2 with walk, driving in an RBI with a single in the third.
Aedan Anderson finished 2-for-2 at the plate with a pair of walks, coming around to score a run.
Matthew DePrey and Jake Lambdin each finished 1-of-3 with a walk.
Carter Hendrickson (1-2) got aboard with a double.
Matt McCormick got on with a walk, one of seven on the day for the Musketeers.

ON THE MOUND

Terry Murray made the start, going 1.2 innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on four hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Matthew Aukerman came in from the bullpen in the second with two on and two out, going 2.1 innings, allowing one run on three hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Jack Niedringhaus entered with one on and no one out in the fifth inning, going 1.1 inning, allowing one run on two hits an a pair of walks.
Ashton Chronister came in with two on and one out in the sixth, allowing three runs on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in 1.2 innings of work.
Aiden Cook entered for the eighth inning, allowing one run on a solo homer.
