Emma Welch took home medalist honors at the tournament with a score of 213 (-3)

OKATIE, S.C. - Xavier women's golf won its fifth straight BIG EAST Championship on Monday afternoon. The three-day tournament was held at Callawassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, S.C.

The Musketeers have matched former member Notre Dame for the most BIG EAST Championships in conference history (5). The five straight conference titles is also the most consecutive championships in BIG EAST history.

Junior Emma Welch, playing in her first conference tournament, entered the championship with only one career top-10 finish (ninth on March 5, 2024 at the UNF Collegiate).

The Lakeville, Minn., native, took home medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 213 (-3). She hit six-under-par (66) on Sunday, the lowest round score in the history of the BIG EAST Championships. Georgetown's Morgan Smith was the runner-up, posting a score of 215 (-1).

Xavier posted a 54-hole score of 881 (+17), finishing two strokes ahead of Georgetown (883, +19). Seton Hall finished third with a score of 906 (+42).
