The BIG EAST Conference Released The 2024-25 Men's Basketball Schedule

CINCINNATI --- The BIG EAST Conference announced the 2024-25 BIG EAST men's basketball regular season schedule today. Xavier opens its league slate on the road against two-time defending national champion Connecticut on Wednesday, Dec. 18. XU opens the home portion of the BIG EAST schedule three days later on Saturday, Dec. 21 against Marquette, a team that made the 2024 NCAA Sweet 16. XU's 20 BIG EAST games include 14 games against teams that participated in 2024 postseason play.

The Marquette game is one of five BIG EAST home games that fall on a Saturday this season. The Saturday games include the second game with UConn on Jan. 25, DePaul on Feb. 15, 2024 NCAA Sweet 16 team Creighton on March 1 and Providence on March 8 for Senior Day in the regular season finale.

In addition to the 20-game BIG EAST schedule, Xavier has an 11-game non-conference schedule, which includes seven games at Cintas Center. Xavier opens the 2024-25 season with five straight home games at Cintas Center, including a renewal of the Skip Prosser Classic vs. Wake Forest on Saturday, Nov. 16. Opening Night is Monday, Nov. 4 vs. Texas Southern.

Xavier's four-game non-conference road schedule could include four matchups against teams that made 2024 postseason play. XU visits TCU on Thursday, Dec. 5 in a Big 12-BIG EAST Battle matchup. The Musketeers will be looking for their sixth-straight win over crosstown rival Cincinnati when they visit UC on Saturday, Dec. 14 for the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout. Xavier plays in the 2024 Fort Myers Tip-Off in November. Xavier opens against South Carolina on Nov. 25 and plays Virginia Tech or Michigan on Nov. 27 in its second game.
