Four Musketeers hit double figures, led by 20 for Ryan Conwell
OMAHA, Neb. - Four Musketeers hit double figures, led by 20 points for Ryan Conwell, but Xavier fell, 86-77, to Creighton at the CHI Health Center.
Xavier moved to 13-9 overall and 5-6 in BIG EAST play, while Creighton improved to 15-6 overall and 8-2 in BIG EAST action.
Next up, the Musketeers return to Cintas Center to host Georgetown on Tuesday, February 4, set for a 8:30 p.m. start on FS1.

NOTABLE
- Zach Freemantle had seven early points to help the Musketeers lead by as many as five in the opening minutes of the game. Creighton chipped away at the lead and the two teams traded baskets until a 7-0 run gave the Bluejays a seven point lead. CU built the lead out to as many as 10, going into the final minutes of the first half, but Xavier closed the half on a 5-0 run to go into the break down five, 40-35. Freemantle led the Musketeers with nine first half points.
- The Bluejays built the lead out to as many as nine in the first five minutes of the second half, before a 10-2 run for Xavier pulled the Musketeers within one, 53-52, with 13 minutes to play. Xavier pulled even with Creighton at 61-61 with just under 10 minutes to play, but a 4-0 Bluejay run put CU in front for good, leading by as many as 11 before Creighton won by a final score of 86-77.
- Ryan Conwell finished with a team-high 20 points after scoring 17 in the second half, connecting on four three pointers.
- Zach Freemantle added 16 for the Musketeers after leading Xavier with nine points in the first half. He also matched three others for team high with six rebounds.
- John Hugley IV finished with a season-high 13 points, connecting on 5-of-7 shots from the floor, including going 2-of-3 from three. He also grabbed a team-high matching six rebounds.
- Dailyn Swain added 11 points and grabbed a team-high matching six boards.
- Marcus Foster also had six rebounds as the Musketeers were outrebounded 36-32 overall. The Musketeers finished with a 14-11 advantage on the offensive glass but Creighton had a 14-13 advantage on second-chance points.
- Xavier finished shooting 42.4 percent (28-66) from the floor while the Bluejays shot 52.6 (30-57) overall. The Musketeers made 9-of-24 threes compared to Creighton's 11-of-25 mark, with the Bluejays going 8-of-10 from outside in the second half.
- The Musketeers had just eight turnovers to 13 for the Bluejays, but Creighton finished with a 14-13 advantage in points off turnovers.
