CINCINNATI - Four Musketeers reached double figures on Tuesday night as Xavier defeated Georgetown, 74-69, at Cintas Center.
The Musketeers improved to 14-9 (6-6 BIG EAST), while the Hoyas dropped to 14-9 (5-7 BIG EAST).
Xavier returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 9 at Villanova. Tip-off is slated for 12 p.m. from the Wells Fargo Center.

The Musketeers improved to 14-9 (6-6 BIG EAST), while the Hoyas dropped to 14-9 (5-7 BIG EAST).

NOTABLE
- The opening half had three ties and four lead changes. Xavier trailed Georgetown, 24-16, with 7:06 left in the first half before going on a 14-2 run run - taking a four-point lead (30-26) into the locker room. Defensively, the Musketeers held the Hoyas without a basket over the final five minutes and six seconds of the first half.
- Xavier opened the second half on a 9-4 run, taking a nine-point lead with 16:56 left on the clock. The Musketeers never relinquished their lead and led by nine points again with 39 seconds left in regulation (72-63). The Hoyas finished the game on a 6-2 run, but the comeback fell short as the Musketeers pulled away for the five-point win (74-69).
- Marcus Foster posted his first double-double in a Xavier uniform, scoring 17 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds. The guard went 5-for-7 from the floor and knocked down three 3-pointers.
- Dailyn Swain scored a career-high 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting. The sophomore guard/forward chipped six rebounds and four assists.
- Zach Freemantle added 17 points on 7-for-12 shooting. The senior forward added three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
- Ryan Conwell finished with 11 points, four assists, four rebounds and two steals.
- Dante Maddox Jr. scored six points on a pair of three pointers to go along with two assists and two steals in 19 minutes of action off the bench.
- Xavier posted a .510 field-goal percentage (25-for-49) and went 7-for-18 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 17-for-19 from the free-throw line. Xavier has posted a .500 field-goal percentage or better in seven games this season.
- Xavier won the battle on the glass, 31-24, and held a 19-14 advantage in points off of turnovers. Both teams scored 30 points in the paint.
- Xavier scored one more fastbreak point (12-11) than Georgetown and had three more bench points (9-6). The Hoyas scored one more second-chance point (6-5) than Xavier.
- Georgetown finished the game with a .491 field-goal percentage (27-for-55) and went 7-for-23 from behind the arc. The Hoyas were also 8-for-13 from the foul line.
