CINCINNATI - Xavier men's basketball dropped a 75-70 exhibition matchup vs Murray State on Saturday afternoon at Cintas Center.

Xavier opens the 2025-26 season vs Marist on Monday, Nov. 3 at Cintas Center. Tip-off is slated for 7:15 p.m.

NOTABLES

The game featured three ties and three lead changes. Murray State led by as many as 13 points (46-33) with 15:40 left in the game.
Xavier battled back to tie the game at 64-64 with 1:33 left in regulation. The Racers outscored the Musketeers, 11-6, down the stretch by going 11-for-12 from the foul line.
Tre Carroll paced four Musketeers in double figures with 21 points. He was 6-for-10 from the floor and added a game-high 13 rebounds.
Roddie Anderson III, Filip Borovicanin and Malik Messina-Moore all added 12 points. Anderson III chipped in three steals and three assists.
Xavier finisehd with a .361 field-goal percentage (22-for-61) and went 2-for-15 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 24-for-31 from the charity stripe.
Both teams scored 17 points off of turnovers. Murray State won the battle on the glass, 45-44, and held a 39-8 advantage in bench points.
Xavier scored two more second-chance points (13-11) and scored 10 more points in the paint (40-30). The Musketeers also scored one more fastbreak point (18-17) than the Racers.
Fredrick King and Brayden Shorter paced the Racers with 15 points each. King added 11 rebounds.
