The freshman golfer earns the honors for the second time this season
NEW YORK - Cayse Morgan was named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Thursday. The freshman golfer earns the honors for the second time this season.
Morgan helped the Musketeers win the Xavier Invitational presented by Gateway Logistics on Oct. 22, winning the tournament for the second time in as many seasons. The two-day tournament was played at Maketewah Country Club.
The Musketeers also won their second straight tournament of the season (won the Moraine Intercollegiate on Oct. 14).
The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 854 (+14) over the two-day tournament, winning the Xavier Invitational by 14 strokes in a field of 12 teams.
Morgan took home medalist honors for the second straight tournament - posting a 54-hole score of 205 (-5) in a field of 76 golfers. The Cincinnati native won the tournament by two strokes.
Morgan and the Musketeers return to action at the Lake Jovita Invitational on Feb. 9-10.
