No. 19 Women's Soccer Takes 7-1 Win Over Marquette

Hansson posts third hat trick, Erbach scores a pair, Pennekamp and Flick add goals
CINCINNATI - No. 19 Xavier women's soccer topped Marquette, 7-1, on Saturday evening at Corcoran Field, marking the Musketeers' seventh win in a row and extending their unbeaten streak to a program-record 15 matches. The Musketeers moved to 13-2-2 overall and remained unbeaten in BIG EAST play at 8-0-1 with the win.
Xavier took the lead in the first 15 minutes, after Elin Hansson scored from Peyton Kohls off a free kick from Reese Slater.
The Musketeers held the 1-0 lead into the final minutes of the first half, limiting the Golden Eagles to just two shots in the opening half. In the 39th minute, Regan Dancer found Presley Pennekamp, who scored for a second-straight match to make it a 2-0 Xavier lead.
Less than minute after Pennekamp scored, Dancer dished out another assist, this time to Emma Flick, to make it a 3-0 lead at the half. Xavier held an 11-2 advantage on shots in the first 45 minutes, led by three each for Hansson and Samantha Erbach.
Shortly after the half, Hansson scored her second of the game, off assists from Erbach and Dancer, to push Xavier's lead out to four, and then less than five minutes later Erbach notched a goal, from Hansson and Nastassja Garrett, to make it a 5-0 lead in the 54th minute
Hansson completed her third hat trick of the season just minutes later, after Dancer served the ball to Kohls in the penalty box. Kohls sent the ball to Hansson where she tapped it in for the six-goal lead.
Marquette cut the advantage back to five after scoring on a free kick from just outside the box in the 59th minute. The Musketeers got the goal back and set the final score at 7-1 in the final 10 minutes of the match, after Erbach struck again, off the assist from Sara Parker.
Xavier wraps up the regular season by hosting No. 12 Georgetown on Saturday, Nov. 1, with the BIG EAST regular season championship on the line. The Musketeers and the Hoyas get underway at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.

54' | XAVIER | Nastassja Garrett served the ball from around midfield to Elin Hansson on the right side. Hansson crossed to Erbach in front of the net, where she tapped it in for the 5-0 lead.
56' | XAVIER | Regan Dancer served the ball into the box from the left side to Peyton Kohls, who set the ball towards the goal with a header. Hansson tapped it in for the 6-0 advantage.

- Elin Hansson finished with a career-high seven points after scoring her third hat trick of the season and picking up an assist on Samantha Erbach's first goal. She now has 33 points on 14 goals and five assists. Her 14 goals match Erbach to lead the BIG EAST.
- Samantha Erbach finished with five points on a pair of goals and an assist, her fifth multi-goal game of the season. She matches Hansson to lead the BIG EAST with 14 goals for the season, and added to her NCAA-leading and school-record assist total, now standing at 14. She leads the conference and ranks among the top three in the country with 42 points.
- Presley Pennekamp notched the game-winner for a second-straight match. She has seven points on two goals and three assists for the season.
- Emma Flick knocked in her career-high seventh goal of the season. Combined with four assists, she has 18 points.
- Regan Dancer had a career-high three assists for the game, giving her 10 for the season. Combined with three goals, she has a career-best 16 points for the year.
- Peyton Kohls picked up a pair of assists, giving her eight for the year. Combined with six goals, she has 20 points for the season.
- Reese Slater had her sixth assist of the season, combining with two goals for 10 points for the year.
- Xavier defense limited the Golden Eagles to three shots overall, matching Marquette's season low, and just two looks on-frame.
- Maria Galley made the start in goal, finishing with a save and a goal against. Taylor Thomas played the final 31 minutes.
- Xavier now leads NCAA DI with 59 goals for the season (as of 10/25), the second most goals in program history. Combined with a program-record 61 assists, the Musketeer have 179 points for the season, a new program record.
- The Musketeers set a new program record for consecutive matches without a loss at 15. Xavier has gone 13-0-2 over that stretch, outscoring opponents 59-9 during that stretch.
- Xavier won its seventh-straight, the longest winning streak for the Musketeers since winning eight a row in 2021.
