Musketeers return to action at CSU Magnus Cup

GRANVILLE, Ohio – Xavier men's and women's swimming combined for nine first place finishes competing in a dual meet at Denison on Saturday afternoon.

Next up, Xavier wraps up the schedule for the fall semester at the three-day Cleveland State Magnus Cup. The meet gets underway on Thursday, Nov. 20 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 22 at CSU's Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio.

WOMEN'S NOTABLE

Abby Bocian, Jordyn Libler, Norah Simich and Olivia Oyster opened up the meet with a time of 1:45.38 in the 200 medley relay, placing second.
Abby Bocian placed second in the 1000 free, finishing in a time of 10:39.48.
Ava Tenhundfeld led the Musketeers in the 200 free, placing second with a time of 1:59.23.
Emma Tenhundfeld led Xavier in the 200 back, setting a time of 2:06.93 to place first. She placed second in the 100 back, finishing in a time of 58.22.
Jordyn Libler led the Musketeers in the 100 breast, finishing in 1:04.92 to place second.
Norah Simich took first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:04.73. She completed the sweep of the butterfly events with a time of 57.39 in the 100 fly.
Olivia Oyster won the the 50 free, setting a time of 23.30. She completed the sweep of the freestyle sprints, winning the 100 free with a time of 51.54.
Parker Mandacina placed second in the 200 breast, finishing in a time of 2:22.81. She also led Xavier in the 200 IM, placing second with a time of 2:11.82.
Teegan Madara led Xavier in the 500 free, placing third with a time of 5:18.41.
Norah Simich, Julia Sweetman, Abbey Fish and Olivia Oyster set a time of 3:37.25 in the 400 free relay to place second.
The Musketeer women collected five event wins but fell, 153-108.

MEN'S NOTABLE

Matt Fralic, Brayden Mandacina, Aiden Leamer and Kyle Hudson set a time of 1:32.70 in the 200 medley relay, placing third.
Caz Mikula led the Musketeers in the 1000 free, setting a time of 9:54.90 to place third.
Ryan Knipp led Xavier in the 200 free, setting a time of 1:47.66 to place fourth.
Matt Fralic won the 100 back with a time of 50.88.
Jon Mason's time of 1:01.47 led Xavier in the 100 breast, placing fifth.
Aiden Leamer won the 100 fly, setting a time of 1:51.09. He also led Xavier in the 200 IM, placing second with a time of 1:57.09.
Sean McGinley took first in the 50 free with a time of 21.31. He also led Xavier in the 100 free, placing third with a time of 47.39.
Nate Finnegan placed second in the 200 back with a time of 1:56.29.
Diego Valdes set a time of 2:11.15 in the 200 breast, finishing third.
Luke Peterson placed second in the 500 free with a time of 4:46.19
Josh Martin placed first in 100 fly with a time of 50.81.
Sean McGinley, Matt Fralic, Aiden Leamer and Kyle Hudson closed out the meet with a time of 3:08.81 in the 400 free relay, placing second.
Xavier's men collected four event wins, but fell, 168-94, to the Big Red.
