CINCINNATI - Xavier cross country travels to the BIG EAST Championships presented by JEEP on Friday, Oct. 31.

The meet is being held at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Neb. The Championships are co-hosted by Creighton University and the Omaha Sports Commission.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

Admission to the BIG EAST Championship is available for $20 per car, via the Omaha Sports Commission website. With purchase, the ticket allows for entrance to the cross country course and covers parking and the state park entrance fee. Tickets are per car (two-axle vehicles) and each person in the car will receive a wristband upon arrival at Mahoney State park to access the course. The event ticket with on-site parking is the only ticket option for the championship and spectators are required to purchase tickets in advance online before the championship.

USTFCCCA RANKINGS

The women's cross country was ranked 11th in the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region on Oct. 20.
Xavier was also ranked 14th in the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region on Oct. 7. The Musketeers were ranked for the first time since Nov. 3, 2015.

LAST TIME OUT

Xavier cross country competed at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 17. The meet was held at the Newman Golf Course.
The Xavier women finished fifth (out of 24 teams) in the Red 6K Race. The Xavier men placed 16th (out of 21 teams) in the Red 8K Race.
Myla Toole had the highest finish at the meet, placing fourth in the Women's Red 6K Race with a time of 20:37.93 - the fifth fastest time in program history.
Grace Zdankiewicz placed 11th in the Women's Red 6K Race with a time of 20:57.86, the 10th fastest time in school history.

NOTABLES

On the women's side, Xavier returns its top-five finishers from the 2024 BIG EAST Championships: Grace Zdankiewicz (43rd; 22:18.93), Eilee Ossont (47th; 22:31.77), Myla Toole (48th; 22:33.25), Anna Gedritis (52nd; 22:38.77), Nadia Perez (60th; 22:59.47). The Musketeers placed seventh in the team standings out of 11 teams.
On the men's side, Xavier returns one of its top-six finishers from the 2024 BIG EAST Championships: Chris Lucas (34th; 25:28.18). The Musketeers placed fifth in the team standings out of nine teams. The fifth-place finish was the highest for the Xavier men at a BIG EAST Cross Country Championship and the team's highest team finish since 2004 (placed third at the Atlantic-10 Championships).
Xavier set two school records in cross country last season, both by two-time All-BIG EAST performer, Trevor Nolan. He set the school record in the 8K at the Bradley Pink Classic with a time of 24:17.30. He also set the school record in the 10K at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional with a time of 31:02.00.
Trevor Nolan placed 12th at the 2024 BIG EAST Championships, the highest finish by any male Xavier runner since Tom Ohlman at the 2012 Atlantic-10 Championships (4th place - 25:53.20).
