Volleyball Sweeps Villanova to Remain Undefeated at Home

The Musketeers took down the Wildcats in straight sets to improve to 21-2 overall with a perfect 10-0 home record.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team won its ninth straight match in a sweep of Villanova on Friday night at Cintas Center.
The Musketeers defended their unblemished 10-0 home record as they took down the Wildcats for the second time this season.
Emma Grace recorded her 1,000th career kill in the match to become the 13th player in program history to record both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in their career.
XU started the match on a 7-0 run and never relinquished their lead throughout the first set, holding the Wildcats to a -.031 hitting percentage.
Anna Taylor led the way in the opening frame, hitting a perfect 1.000 on four kills.
The second set was a back-and-forth game of runs that saw 11 ties and seven lead changes, but McKinley Boehm recorded five kills to help lead the Musketeers to a 25-22 win.
Emma Grace closed out the final set for the Musketeers, racking up six kills including the 1000th of her career and adding eight digs to push XU to a 25-20 victory.
Xavier improves to 21-2 on the season with a 10-1 BIG EAST record while Villanova falls to 16-6 and 7-4 in league play.
