Swimming Wraps up Opening Weekend at IU Indy Invite

INDIANAPOLIS – Xavier men's and women's swimming wrapped up the opening weekend of the 2025-26 season at the IU Indy Invite, taking on Bellarmine, IU Indy and Saint Louis on both sides, and Butler and Bowling Green on the women's. The Xavier women won three events and took wins over Butler, Bellarmine and Saint Louis, while the men completed the team sweep of Bellarmine in the team results.
Next weekend, Xavier heads to the Akron Zips Classic, set to run from Friday, Oct. 10 through Saturday, Oct. 11. Events begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Saturday features two sessions, at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., at Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium.

WOMEN'S NOTABLE
- Abby Bocian, Jordyn Libler, Norah Simich and Olivia Oyster opened the meet with a second place finish in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:48.40.
- Teegan Madara placed second in the 1000 free, finishing in a time of 10:36.86. She also led Xavier in the 50 fly with a time of 28.48.
- Olivia Oyster won the 200 free with a time of 1:52.59. Oyster also took the top spot in the 100 free, finishing in 50.61.
- Emma Tenhundfeld led Xavier in the 50 back with a time of 27.35.
- Jordyn Libler took first in the 50 breast, setting a time of 29.51. She also led Xavier in the 200 IM, taking second with a time of 2:08.68.
- Ryon Argo led the Musketeers in the 100 fly with a time of 59.36.
- Norah Simich set a time of 25.18 in the 50 free to lead the Musketeers.
- Maggie O'Toole led Xavier in the 100 back with a time of 59.36.
- Ally Zaleski set a time of 1:08.41 in the 100 breast to lead the Musketeers.
- Abby Bocian led Xavier in the 500 free, placing second with a time of 5:08.41. Ella Maxfield finished third in a time of 5:14.08.
- Norah Simich, Maddy Lathrop, Maggie O'Toole and Olivia Oyster set a time of 1:37.57 in the 200 free relay to finish third.
- The Musketeers collected three first place finishes and went 3-2 in head-to-head team scores, taking wins over Butler, Bellarmine and Saint Louis, while falling to BGSU and IU Indy.

- Owen Schwebach's time of 9:59.32 in the 1000 free to lead the Musketeers.
- Nate Finnegan led the Musketeers in the 200 free with a time of 1:46.48.
- Sean McGinley led Xavier in the 50 back with a time of 24.26. He also set a time of 51.77 in the 100 back to lead the Musketeers.
- Brayden Mandacina set a time of 27.73 in the 50 back to lead Xavier.
- Matt Fralic led the Musketeers in the 100 fly with a time of 50.67. He also set a time of 47.21 in the 100 free, the top time for Xavier.
- Kyle Hudson set a time of 21.45 to lead Xavier in the 50 free. He also led the Musketeers in the 500 free with a time of 4:47.25.
- Jon Mason's time of 1:02.16 led the Musketeers in the 100 breast.
- Aiden Leamer placed third in the 50 fly with a time of 22.63. Leamer also led Xavier in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.09.
- Aiden Leamer, Sean McGinley, Matt Fralic and Kyle Hudson wrapped up the meet with a time of 1:24.13 in the 200 free relay, placing second.
- The Musketeers went 1-2 in the head-to-head scoring, taking a win over Bellarmin and falling to IU Indy and Saint Louis.
