Xavier Swimming Travels to Akron for Akron Zips Classic

Musketeers take on swimmers from Akron, Cleveland State, Denison and Youngstown State
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming travel north to Akron, Ohio, this weekend to take part in the Akron Zips Classic, set to get underway on Friday, Oct. 10 and running through Saturday, Oct. 11, at Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium.

MEET INFOÂ
- Xavier will compete against Cleveland State, Denison and Youngstown State in addition to the hosts Akron.
- Events being on Friday, Oct. 10 at 2 PM with diving. The first racing session starts at 5:00 PMÂ on Oct. 10.
- The event resumes on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10:00 AM. Following a diving session at 1:30 PM, swimmers return to the pool at 3 PM for the men's and women's mile. the final session begins at 5 PM on Saturday.

WEEKLY AWARDSÂ
- Olivia Oyster picked up the first BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week honors of 2025-26, the league office announced on Wednesday.
- Oyster, a senior from Delaware, Ohio, led the Musketeers in the freestyle sprints against Louisville in the first dual of the season. She finished the 50 free in a time of 23.09 and then placed third in the 100 free with a time of 51.04. Oyster was also part of the A-squad that opened the meet with a time of 1:43.84 in the 200 medley relay and then helped Xavier set a time of 3:33.75 in the 400 free relay, scoring in second place.
- At the IU Indy Invite, Oyster was the top point scorer on the women's side after winning a pair of individual events. She took the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.59, and won the 100 free with a time of 50.61. She was also part of the Xavier A-team that opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:48.40 and helped the Musketeers close the meet with a time of 1:37.57 in the 200 free relay, finishing third.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- Xavier is back in action on Friday, Oct. 24, when the Musketeers take on NKU, set for a 5:00 p.m. start at the Kenton County Aquatic Center in Taylor Mill, Ky.
- The Musketeers return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 25, traveling to Denison to take on the Big Red at 1:00 p.m. at the Trumbull Aquatic Center in Granville, Ohio
XAVIER MEN
- Xavier returns five All-BIG EAST honorees, Matt Fralic, Kyle Hudson, Ryan Knipp, Aiden Leamer and Luke Peterson. Co-Most Outstanding Swimmer Aiden Leamer won the 200 fly with an NCAA B-Cut time. He also set an NCAA B-Cut time in the 100 fly. Fralic and Hudson earned all BIG EAST in four events, while Peterson earned it in a pair and Knipp was named all-conference as part of the 800 free relay.
- The Musketeer men placed third at the 2025 BIG EAST Championships, winning four BIG EAST event titles. and setting new program records in seven events.
- Xavier's men return 16 letter winners and added seven newcomers to the roster.
XAVIER WOMEN
- The Musketeers return a trio of All-BIG EAST honorees from last season, Jordyn Libler, Olivia Oyster and Norah Simich. Libler earned all-conference in four events, including winning the 100 breast BIG EAST Championship with an NCAA B-Cut time. Oyster won a pair of BIG EAST titles, in the 50 free and the 100 free, setting NCAA B-Cut times in both. Norah Simich also a set an NCAA B-Cut time in the 200 fly prelims.
- At the 2025 BIG EAST Championships, the Xavier women placed third, winning a program-best eight BIG EAST Championships and setting new school records in 11 events, including all five relays.
- In addition to 13 returning letterwinners, the Musketeers added six newcomers to the roster.
