Noel Scores Career-High 22 Points in Loss vs Flyers

Dayton defeated Xavier, 71-66, on Tuesday night at Cintas Center
CINCINNATI - Mariyah Noel matched her career high in scoring on Tuesday night, scoring 22 points in Xavier's 71-66 loss to rival Dayton at Cintas Center.
Xavier and Dayton both moved to 2-1 on the year.
The Musketeers continue their five-game homestand vs Kent State on Friday, Nov. 14. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. with the game being aired on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network.

NOTABLES
- Tuesday's game featured six ties and 10 lead changes. Dayton led for 20:17 in the contest, while Xavier led for 16:23.
- Dayton led by as many as 14 points (58-44) with 7:23 left in regulation. Xavier responded by outscoring the Flyers, 22-12, to close within four points (70-66) with seven seconds on the clock. Nayo Lear sank a free throw in the closing seconds to give the Flyers the five-point win.
- Mariyah Noel scored 22 points for the second time in as many games. The guard was 6-for-19 from the floor and 8-for-8 from the foul line. Noel added three rebounds, three assists and one block.
- Savannah White nearly missed her third career double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 13 rebounds (the 13 rebounds were also a career high). The forward added three assists, two blocks and two steals.
- MacKenzie Givens added nine points and six rebounds in 21 minutes of action off the bench.
- Vivien Nejašmić and Audia Young both finished with eight points.
- Xavier posted a .308 field-goal percentage (20-for-65) and went 6-for-27 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 20-for-23 from the foul line. The 20 made free throws are the most in a game by Xavier since Dec. 22, 2024 vs Fordham (went 25-for-32).
- Dayton held a 20-13 advantage in points off of turnovers and won the battle on the glass, 48-34. Both teams scored 12 second-chance points.
- Xavier scored nine more bench points (25-16) than Dayton. The Flyers held an 11-9 in fastbreak points and scored 12 more points in the paint (34-22).
- Dayton hit 44.8 percent of its shot attempts (26-for-58) and went 6-for-19 from three-point range. Dayton was also 13-for-23 from the foul line.
- Four Flyers reached double figures, paced by Fatima Ibrahim and Ajok Madol who both scored 14 points.
