Men's Basketball Adds Second Talented Recruit In November Signing Period

Asher Elson from Brooklyn is now playing for Overtime Elite in Atlanta.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University head coach Richard Pitino announced today that he has received a signed athletics aid agreement from Asher Elson, a 6-10 forward from Brooklyn, N.Y.

"We are excited about the addition of Asher to our basketball program," said Pitino. "He's got positional size and skill and terrific upside. He can shoot from three. He can get to the rim and is an elite shot blocker. Asher has great potential."

Elson, who holds a three-star ranking from 247Sports, is the No. 115 overall player in the 2026 class according to Rivals' Top 150 Player Rankings.

Elson, who is in his second season playing for Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Ga., is currently averaging 10.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

Before that, in 2023-24, Elson was named to New York City's Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) 4A All-League First Team after averaging 16 points and six rebounds per game for South Shore High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.
