Volleyball Earns a No. 8 Seed in NCAA Tournament

The Xavier volleyball team will play Michigan in the program's third ever NCAA Tournament.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team heard its name called in the 2025 NCAA Volleyball Selection Show on Sunday night to make its third ever tournament appearance.
The No. 8 seed Musketeers will face Michigan in Pittsburgh on Friday at 4:00 p.m. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
Xavier is 26-4 on the season, most recently falling to No. 12 Creighton in the BIG EAST Tournament Championship match. The Musketeers ended the regular season with a program record 14-2 mark in the BIG EAST.
XU is at 22 in the latest RPI, their highest rating this season. The Musketeers have been receiving votes in the last four straight AVCA/Taraflex Polls.
Xavier is making its third all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2007. The Musketeers' first appearance came in 2001.
Michigan is 21-10 overall with an 11-9 Big Ten record. The Wolverines are making their 21st appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The two teams have not faced off since 2015, with Michigan taking a 3-1 win.
The BIG EAST earned three bids to the NCAA Tournament, the conference's most since 2015. Creighton is a No. 3 seed in the Lexington regional while Marquette will play in the Lincoln regional.
